1. BALANCE IN LIFE

    How do you create a sense of balance and wellbeing in your life? I ask because so often, it seems we miss the deeper meaning of wellbeing

    1. Get better.

    There are always new and different ways we can improve our way of living. Life is just one long progression, right? The key is to keep progressing positively by having an open mind.

    2. Explore what makes you passionate.

    If you’re reading this, chances are you have a passion, maybe many.

    It’s easy to forget that lots and lots of people walk around without any sense of purpose or direction in their lives. And they probably believe that they just weren’t meant to find one.

    Finding something that you love that feeds your true self can be incredibly freeing and refreshing. When you feel good about what you do, balance and fulfillment come so much more easily.

    3. Build your inner strength 

    As a dancer, I’ve learned that inner strength helps you go through all the challenges that life gives you. Find a way to build this balance everyday. 

    4. Find the balance that’s right for you.

    Don’t try to be anyone else. Make a conscious decision each day to just be you, and to make no apologies for that.

    Focus your energy on determining what’s right for you. It can feel easy to simply go with the flow. But when you discover ways to live your life that fully align with what is in your heart, the reward of balance is unparalleled.

    5. Create balance in your interactions with other people.

    If you aim to maintain balance around you, it will help you maintain balance within. Give as much as you receive.

  2. SUCCESS 

    Successful people often have certain characteristics in common — things like how they don’t focus on their competition but on the courage to honor their strengths. They also surround themselves with positive people and help the ones in need. 

    Success has little to do with luck. Success requires patience. Success requires planning. Success is the mastery of techniques to attain the ultimate goal.   3. REDEFINING REALNESS 

    To be true to yourself means to act in accordance with who you are and what you believe. 

    Be who you are! When you do things that are not genuine or a reflection of the real you, you will not be happy with yourself and will end up confused. Self-respect comes from being true to who you really are and from acting in accordance with your fundamental nature. When you are true to yourself, you allow your individuality and uniqueness to shine through. Be true to the very best that is in you and live your life consistent with your highest values and aspirations.

    In the words of Steve Jobs, ”Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” We don’t have forever to be who we are. In fact, we owe it to ourselves and those we love to be truly alive and authentic in each moment. It is the only legacy we can be proud to leave behind.

    Good evening guys! Life is sure bringing about many experiences for me to practice the five W’s lately - and I wanted to share it with you tonight. They are definitely words to live by…

    First, WHO you are is what makes you special. Do not change for anyone. Second, WHATthe future holds will remain a secret. Don’t hold back from living a full life and do not be afraid to explore. Third, WHEN life pushes you over, you should push back harder. Fourth, WHERE there are choices to make, make the ones you won’t regret. Fifth, WHY things happen will never be certain.     I received Golden Berries from Organic Traditions, and I was very excited to share with you my new favorite recipe with the Golden Berries. These chewy treats are believed to improve organ function and they have a high source of Vitamin C and potassium. For my smoothie, I’m majorly in the mood for spring and flavours that are bright and fresh. The result is a refreshing smoothie that tastes like a grapefruit in creamsicle form. Yum!

    What you need? 1 ruby red grapefruit. 1 cup frozen strawberries. 1 ripe banana, peeled. I cup of Golden Berries. ½ cup Greek yogurt. ½ cup orange juice. ½ teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 tablespoon honey. 

    Cut the ends off the grapefruit so you can see the pink flesh. Using that as a guide trim away the skin and the white pith until you have a naked grapefruit. Slice the grapefruit into thick rounds and remove any seeds. Place the rounds of grapefruit into a blender along with remaining ingredients. Process until smooth. Enjoy you Saturday! Love. F.

  6. DIVINE 

    Cook and enjoy! Here is one of my favorite breakfast, this coconut black rice pudding is silky, creamy and totally divine. Of course, breakfast is a natural way to start the day on the right foot, and, man oh man, it makes such a difference to wake up to a nutritious breakfast ready to be enjoyed!

    Coconut Black Rice Breakfast Pudding
    Serves 3-4 

    Ingredients:
    1 cup / 200g black rice, soaked overnight (if possible)
    1 can full-fat coconut milk (reserve a couple tablespoons for garnish, if desired)
    ½ cup water with soaked rice, 1 ½ cups water with un-soaked rice
    ¼ tsp. fine grain sea salt
    ½ vanilla bean (optional)
    1 Tbsp. maple syrup (or other sweetener of your choice)
    1/3 cup coconut flakes, lightly toasted

    Fruits of your choosing (mango, passion fruit, pomegrenate, banana, kiwi, pineapple). 

    1. Measure out rice, rinse and cover with water. Let soak overnight or for up to 8 hours (even one hour makes a difference!). Drain and rinse well again.

    2. Place rice in a pot with coconut milk, salt, vanilla bean (seeds and pod) and the indicated amount of water. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer and cook covered, stirring frequently, until the rice is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed (you still want a little liquid). 

    3. While the rice is cooking, prepare all the fruit that you would like to accompany the pudding.

    4. To assemble, scoop out desired amount of black rice into a bowl, top with fruit, toasted coconut, and a drizzle of coconut milk. Enjoy.

  7. HAPPINESS 

    Good evening guys! The last post was about finding your passion. So I hope you took the leap! Today, I want to share with you fabulous things that will happen when you start pursuing your dreams. You’re pursuing your passions and it’s a relatively new reality for you. 

    Let’s just get real and honest about a few things you can expect when you take the big risk to pursue your dreams.

    1. You are going to be scared, more than once. Fear may be paralyzing at times, yet the desire and passion to do what you love has a stronger hold on you than fear ever could.

    2. You’re going to get way out of your comfort zone. This is a good thing, because you’re going to need to in order to grow and expand the way your purpose asks you to.

    3. You can follow your dreams someday, but right now you need to buckle down and be responsible. – Someday?  When is ‘someday?’  Someday is not a day at all.  It’s a foggy generalization of a time that will likely never come.  Today is the only day guaranteed to you. Today is the only day you can begin to make a difference in your life.  And pursuing your dreams is what life is all about.  So don’t be irresponsible.  Don’t wait until ‘someday.’  Make today the first day of the rest of your new life.

    4. There will be a day when you’ll wonder, “Why the hell did I wait so long? I’ve never felt more alive in my entire life. The ups and downs are just part of this crazy ride, and man, am I glad I didn’t quit last week.” At the end of the day, the risk is always worth it. So have fun as you jump off the cliff and enjoy the ride for what it is: a wild adventure. 

    5. That’s possible! – It’s only impossible if you never do anything about it.  The reason certain things seem impossible is simply because nobody has achieved them yet.  But this doesn’t mean that with your help these things won’t become possible in the future.  If you truly dedicate yourself to an end result, almost anything is possible. You just have to want it bad enough.

  8. BE PASSIONATE 

    For me, being passionate with all of the different aspects in your life, is definitely one of the most important thing to keep in mind everyday. One of the most common stumbling blocks to launching a passion-based life is figuring out what you’re passionate about in the first place. Passion can’t be found in your head because it lives in your heart.

    Today, I am sharing with you some dance pictures of my latest trip, in Florida. I danced since the age of 3 and, one of the most important thing I learn when dancing is that great dancers are not only good because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.

  9. PACKING 

    There’s an art to traveling … and an even finer art in feeling and looking great while doing so. These tips and tricks will help make it possible.

    What to pack : 

    Antibacterial wipes: Safeguard your health by killing germs, bacteria, viruses by wiping down the entire seat area. 

    Comfy socks & cashmere scarf: Apply cream to feet and wear a pair of cozy socks to stay both warm and receive a hydrating foot treatment all at once. Use your cashmere scarf to double as a blanket in flight to stay cozy. Cashmere is a luxury, but worth the splurge.

    Fresh lemons: Bring a couple in your carry-on, squeezing fresh juice in your water during flight for extra cleansing and detoxing effects. 

    Superfoods to go: Bring greens on the road with portable super greens. They’re easily added to water or juice in-flight—also a great way to start the morning. 

    What to do : 

    Promote circulation. Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes to promote circulation. This is especially important, given that you’re at a higher-risk for blood clots while flying and staying immobile for long periods of time.

    Stretch & move. Keep your circulation optimal by performing simple stretches and practicing deep breathing. This is crucial for overall wellbeing, and also helps avoid aforementioned blood clots.

    Eat right. Some say fasting is the antidote for jet lag. If that sounds a little extreme, try sticking to a diet of fruit, smoothies, and salads the day of travel. 

    Stay hydrated (inside & out). Water is essential while flying. 

    Post flight : 

    Move : Working up a sweat helps combat water retention, jump-starts metabolism, stimulates the lymphatic system and gets blood circulating. Go for a quick job, practice yoga, or pop into a steam room.

    Enjoy : You are finally at destination! Enjoy and live the moment.

  10. LIFE PHILOSOPHY 

    Good evening guys! A lot of you asked me in the last few days about my lifestyle and life philosophy. Tonight, I take the time to share a special post to inspire you in different aspects of your life. 

    1. Life philosophy

    My awareness of something creates it. My thoughts create my self and my life. What I think about, I bring about.  Feeling good feels good. When I focus on love and gratitude, I find more to love and be grateful for. Limiting beliefs and negative thoughts are the root of unhappiness. Life is an infinite flow of well being. Find your passion and pursue it. 

    2. You are what you eat 

    The reason we eat should be to keep us healthy - which makes us strong, beautiful, happy and confident. Take the time to enjoy all the the textures, the flavors, the colors and the aromas of your recipe! Seek pleasure of the senses!

    3. Love, everywhere 

    Things worth having don’t come easy! Trust life and love what you think is worth while.
